My uni roommate and I bought some vanilla-smelling binbags.

Seriously, the only way you can smell it is if your nose is next to it, and you do NOT want your nose next to what you put in the bin

I think we only bought them cos they were the cheapest

I put shake and vac in the bottom of my bin then put the bin liners in.

I buy the lemon scented ones and they do work but having said that I use them in my kitchen bin. and no food ever goes in that bin so perhaps that is why it stays fresh.

Why is it when something is "scented" nine times out of ten it's with vanilla?

Candles, car air fresheners, room sprays etc.

I find vanilla scent to be one of the most sickening smells around.

Unless it's ice-cream of course.

Good job I didn't buy those today then when I saw them. Just add a little zoflora or soemthing to teh bottom of your bin and it'll smell alright for a while.

Jeyes fluid lemon fresh bin freshner is brilliant I put it at the bottom of my green bin,everything that goes in that bin goes in black bags first and it never smells bad only lemony

Can I also recommend M&S's own hand sanitiser gel?

It's the nicest smell ever
