I'm hoping to go back into teaching having had 9 nearly 10 years out so I thought I'd update my skills hence going back to college to do GCSE's one of which is maths.  I got grade C last time I did O level so I thought I'd try higher tier GCSE.  Teacher is the worst one I've ever had in my life - I learn more on my own than in her lessons   I'm a primary school teacher btw.

I really don't envy the kids today - they should have dispensed with the foundation level maths and kept intermediate and higher tier.  There is such a disparagey in the teaching between the two   I'm so stressed because I set impossibly high standards for myself.

I asked a question today and do you know what she said "Pengy if you can't work it out for yourself you are not an A/A* grade pupil so don't worry about it and concentrate on the easier questions"   How is that teaching me and helping me to achieve a goal?  I'd be even angrier if I was paying which a lot of my group are!
