Oh, I heard of this and was hoping it was a sci-fi sort of thing but looks like the usual!

Those of a certain age might remember BBC2 did a stone age reality show (before they were called reality shows) back in the early 80s. Might not have been stone age, probably more Anglo Saxon/Viking type thing.

Was that the one when they lived on an Iron Age farm for a year?

yeah, I think so, something like that.  Very popular at the time IIRC

When we first discussed this, I mentioned that someone I knew who was into historical re-enactments used to joke that you couldn't consider it properly realistic until everyone involved had come down with - at the very least - rampant dysentery, It looks like I wasn't far off the mark...

After two days with a survival expert, they are left to fend for themselves - and things get off to a bad start.

In episode one, the tribe are dropped in the forest where they meet survival expert Klint, who takes them to their Mesolithic style camp, where they have to dig latrines and light fires before nightfall. Supplied with a dead deer for food, they fail to get the blaze going and go to bed cold and hungry - only to find their precious meat overrun with maggot larvae the following morning.

Within 24 hours Caroline suffers from heat exhaustion, Perry is an emotional wreck and Josie begins to realise the Stone Age is not the best era for a vegetarian.

In the second episode, the arguments start after designated leader Steve calls a meeting and one of the cavewomen discovers human faeces in the camp.

Yes exactly Machel. They're absolutely rubbish  I would genuinely like to have seen the neolithic way of living, but its morphed into a tragi-comedy now.
