It was crowded, dull and hot:
At the airport
I drank hot chocolate and ate cream cheese bagels
And then it’s time to board
Take-off was delayed
I fell asleep right there
On my hand, my head stayed
I woke up just in time
for a small drink
of ice cranberry juice
Then I started to think
of telling the forumers
about my few days
in New York City
before eviction day
At Hilton Hotel, we’re on floor forty-two of forty-four!
If you look out the window, the whole city’s in view not
After a proper quick shower and a swift change of jeans
we were back on the jam-packed and light-studded streets
It was busy
It was pretty
The heart of the city
The buildings were tall and surrounded by folk
We stood in Times Square
Didn’t know I was there until I saw the flashing signs
Our tummies were rumbling so we ate pizza
The night of the NY City life had well and truly fallen
So I went to bed and didn’t wake till morn
The Statue of Liberty’s first
that we see
I found I was sea-sick on board the ferry
I can’t fit “A pigeon pooed on the deck” in
And then it chucked it down
which did not allow us
to go on the deck of the Empire State we went the next day
The rain of the NY City life had well and truly fallen
So I went to bed and didn’t wake till morn
Humidity was high
Oh why oh why oh why?
It didn’t help that I
had no deodorant
I cannot imagine
how people live here
The traffic’s really bad
I hear car honks as I sing:
My days in the NY City life had well and truly fallen
Now I’m here, oh home sweet home, back on the forum!
