What old words, phrases or sayings do you love and wish were still in use?

PILLAR BOX - another name for post box
I was going to post a letter the other day with one of our kids and pointed to a post box, "There's a pillar box"
Our child said, "A what? Pillow box?"

We had a long chat about old words n phrases - she was genuinely interested!

If you put it in quotes then I'm sure it will be okay.

Next to Rutland Water, there are still one or two of those hexagonal concrete lookout boxes from WW2. I always called those Pillar Boxes, probably wrongly.
