My two I had used to do that. Many's a time I went upstairs to shreds of loo roll all over the stairs

Yes my cat sleeps allday but luckily goes out through the catflap  - but she still does that sometimes

I have decided mine is going to be a house cat I think 

aww don't blame you can be worrying if they are out too long and we are always rescuing voles/mice/birds

Yes ...think I’m getting to old for all that 

we have a long brush and dust pan and scoop  them up oh! and a tea towel for birds ( not used!!!)-OH has it off to a fine art - I do my best but i do go out looking for her  in the garden sometimes if she is out longer than normal
