If Sir Keir's so "forensic" why doesn't he realise he's rubbish!

EastEnders - So Calum, who has just joined the Police Force seems to spend all his time in plain clothes and goes into work whenever he likes, spending most of his days doing his own thing. Yet he's only just joined the force! When and why did he get this promotion to a senior detective? This isn't how new PC plods serve as far as I know.

The Duchess on Netflix, funny plus a load of other stuff she's done over the years. So funny and talented. I know she's all over the place on loads of shows but what a talent! Best woman in comedy IMO

Things I've learnt The BBC is too easily cowed by threats by the sitting government to be impartial. The licence fee should be abolished You can have half a million members, committed party workers have thousands chanting "oh Jeremy Corbyn" but it means nothing against the brute force of Tory media and the power to shape opinions to the will of billionaires. The left is dead in this country. The right-wing media machine will never allow a left-wing government! If the Jewish community almost...

I commented on a Hopkin's Twitter Trump thread, "I hope he dies soon". I do hope Trump dies soon because that's the only way I can see to aid him relinquishing power that he abuses. Twitter judged this intimidation and harassment. But how can I intimidate the president of the USA by making those comments? He's got fucking nukes, I'm just a twat on the internet!. Meanwhile Katie Hopkins spreads poison on Twitter with no rebuke.

So Hobson's "Imperialism" contains racist tropes common to the attitude in 1900s that there were "lesser races" although Hobson puts those references in quotes to distance himself from that thinking. He also specifically references the Jewish owned business interests as promoters of Imperialism. So is this 'as bad as' the New Testament that specifically condemns the Jewish people as betrayers of their own messiah and the son of God? The New Testament is by far the source of antisemitism in...

https://www.theguardian.com/bu...-a-42bn-lift-by-2030 Using drones to transform working practices could boost Britain’s economy by £42bn by 2030, research claims. Increased use of drones , in sectors from construction or defence to energy or logistics, will employ hundreds of thousands of people and lift GDP by almost 2%, according to a report by accountants PwC. Vodafone pilots new software to thwart rogue drones While pilots and police have often viewed drones as a problem , the report...

Ok, so why are so many Labour voters wanting to vote for an incompetent and rather thick Tory leader? This week I listened to a staunch Labour voter saying she was going to vote Tory to get behind Theresa May against the EU and that Corbyn was a silly old idiot. The EU negotiators couldn't care less how large the UK Tory majority is! Why should they? They're not in thrall of May, Murdoch or any other right wing media baron. So, WTF, why have so many normally sensible voters decided to vote...

Re Andrea Leadsom's withdrawal. Oddly, for at least the last decade the whole family man/woman with kids thing has been played up to the max by politicians of both parties. Blair and Cameron being the best examples. Clegg and Brown also being similarly inclined. New Labour were obsessed with families and Cameron mirrored that with the Tory Party's tiresome 'hard working families doing the right thing' mantra. IMO, that's not the reason at all for Andrea Leadsom's withdrawal. She got a bit of...

It occurs to me that there is a serious gap between what the political punditry think the people think or would like to think what people think and what people actually think. I don't really like Ken Livingstone but I've read his comments and while being badly phrased, they certainly don't merit the slur of Nazi apologist by John Mann yet there seems to be broad agreement that it was ok for him to make that slur. Seems to me that Livingstone is a handy stick to take the heat off Cameron and...

Surprised this is not mentioned! http://www.theguardian.com/lif...s-turn-on-each-other A lively week in the reality formats, as ’Allo ’Allo! legend Vicki Michelle is hospitalised after being caught in the crossfire of an on-air brawl on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side. And police charge another reality TV personage with attacking Sinitta with a napkin . The latter incident took place in a sushi restaurant in London’s appalled Belgravia and, according to reports, saw Real Housewives...

So EastEnders script writers sold it to Adam Woodyatt (as if he's got anywhere to go, it's not like anyone from Hollywood's calling) who is Ian Beale that the who killed Lucy Beale plot will be like Broadchurch.  Ha ha, as if!  EastEnders...
